Dissapionted

Greetings PokéFans!
The Mastermind of Mirage Pokémon finished about 45 minutes ago and I don't know about you all, but I found it to be quite dissapointing. Throughout the debut I could not help but to focus on the characters voices; they were horrible. Of course, there maybe some Pokémon Fans out there that appreciate the new voices, but I am not one for change. The story line was great, everything was great, except the new voices of the main characters. Who knows, maybe Pokemon Fans around the world can do something before it gets too far. All fans must unite!

Wii're sick of codenames.

Well Nintendo went and did it now.. The new console, code named Revolution, has recieved it's new (and strange) permanent name. As of yesterday, it's now Nintendo Wii. (..as in 'We')Nintendo Wii Logo

While the code-name "Revolution" expressed our direction, Wii represents the answer. Wii will break down that wall that separates video game players from everybody else. Wii will put people more in touch with their games ... and each other...

But you're probably asking: What does the name mean?

Wii sounds like "we," which emphasizes this console is for everyone.

More Mastermind Info

From PokéBeach:
I would have put up this info last night, but my connection died as I was posting it. My source sent me all of the below info, and I may add more facts later if I get more. (EDIT: Looks like some of this info was posted on Pokemon.com as well. They also have two more pictures.)
• Dr. Yung, the scientist in the special, is kidnapped after he has finished developing his machine.

• Ash, May, Brock, and Max must save him after he is taken away.

• The purpose of the mirage machine is to resurrect extinct Pokemon, and is why it has been created.

• The "Mastermind of Mirage Pokemon" has taken control of the machine to create Mirage Pokemon in a quest to create the ultimate Pokemon. The Mastermind believes he can create Pokemon that have no weaknesses.

• The natural balance of the Pokemon world is being threatened.

Okay, so now we have confirmation that May, Max, and Brock are in the special, which means we will get to hear their new voices. However, a little topsy-turvey has taken place here. We originally thought Misty would be involved with Ash in the special, but it appears something might happen to her (pure speculation). In one of the pictures below (click for larger images), she appears to be falling, which could mean that she could have been kidnapped too. It's weird how she is not mentioned as being one of the heroes trying to rescue Dr. Yung, so maybe she's been kidnapped with him. Who knows, though - my assumption could be totally wrong. It also looks as if the special will be in wide-screen. It was in wide-screen in the commercials and it is in wide-screen in the below pictures. If Kids WB doesn't touch the special, hopefully it will remain that way. Hopefully we will get some more information before the special, but my source is trying to keep as much of it a secret so that the plot is not spoiled to the public. Rememer, we will have the special available for viewing here on Saturday, so be sure to check back!

Pokémon Wi-Fi Experiment

Well, thanks to my friends at PokéCharms for bringing this to my attention, in the recent advertising schemes in Europe for Pokémon Link (Trozei), it has been noted various times that Pokémon Link has Wi-Fi capabilities, which several online stores seem to be stating aswell. As of yet it is unknown if this is true and if it is what depth the online features would be. However it is likely that this is just an error on the Press Agencies parts but we should have confirmation soon.

PKMN MBL

It's official! Nintendo announced today that they will be partnering up with Square Enix to create the Pokémon Mobile Phone set to be released in Japan. The phone will feature main Pokémon, and of course Pikachu! The launch of this product gives Nintendo and their workers great experience in the Mobile Market. So far, Famitsu magazine has not made any ideas or plans to bring the Pokémon Mobile outside of Japan to foreign lands.

PokéPhone Came True! ...For JP

IGN reports, April 24, 2006 - Square Enix is teaming up with Nintendo in an unexpected way. The company announced today an agreement with the Pokémon Company, the company that handles all Pokémon-related business in Japan, for the development of mobile content starring Pikachu and friends.

As part of the deal, Square Enix will release Pokemate to Foma 900i series phones in Japan this Summer. Pokémate is a communication tool that allows for chat and mail, funned up through Pokémon characters like Pikachu. Pricing for the application is set at 200 yen per month.

Kids WB! On CW Unveils Lineup

Kids WB! on CW will add four new shows when it moves from The (folding) WB to the new CW network when the latter launches in the fall, including several featuring classic Warner Bros. toons.
Kids WB

Three of the four new shows are from Warner Bros. Animation, whose parent, Time Warner, co-owns the new CW network, as it did The WB.

With all four remaining shows from the Warner Bros. toon shop, that meanss seven of the eight shows announced so far for the Saturday morning kids block are in-house productions.

The new shows are Legion of Super Heroes, a familiar title to Boomer comic fans; familiar faces in Shaggy & Scooby-Doo Get a Clue, Tom & Jerry Tales, and Monster Allergy (from Rainbow S.P.A.).

Sticking around for the switch are The Batman, Loonatics Unleashed, Xiaolin Showdown and Johnny Test, not to be confused with Johnny Quest.

The five-hour block will begin at 7-8 a.m. with "Pillow Head," two as-yet-unidentified education/informational shows, which means they qualify towards the FCC's three-hour weekly minimum of E/I shows.

To add a spoonful of sugar to the educational block, it will have a host, a "youth correspondent," Giselle, who will do "red carpet" interviews with celebreties about "pillow hair" experiences and other pillow-related fare, according to Warner Bros.

UPDATE (Sunain): According to a Mediaweek article, "Gone will be longtime Kids WB! staples Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh!, both which have been falling steadily in the ratings. The decision to drop Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh! was based on soft ratings and a desire to bring in more Warner Bros."

Hopefully Pokemon will be picked up by another network or the 'Save the dub' campaign will take on a whole new meaning.

We're Not So Special After All

PokéAni, a Japanese Pokémon Fansite, is now reporting that according to Yumi Iizuka, there is going to be a special airing in February of next year in Japan that features Kasumi (Misty). PokéAni believes that this special is likely to be a Japanese translation of the upcoming US Special "The Mastermind of Mirage Pokémon".The Mastermind of Mirage Pokémon

As this is NOT confirmed, we take it with a grain of salt. If this does proves to be true, it goes to show that the special isn't just a 4Kids written thing (it's written by Pokémon USA, actually.) thats going to be filled with pointless PokeShipping hints like many people think it will be.

Stayed tuned for more info on this and everything else Pokémon.

New York, New York & Nintendo World

Okay, I just got back from my trip to New York city, no the first time I've been there, but I'll tell you all that happened. First, it's a 2.5 hour drive to get from my hometown, Suffield, CT to New York. We left, my mom, dad and I, for the city at around 9a. On the way down we hit some trafic, so I plyed with my Pokémon Pikachu 2 GS, my DS with Pokémon Trozei, and my Pokémon Mini, yes there is such a thing.
When we got there we had trouble navigating and parking, so we finally parked at a leave-your-keys place next to Radio City Music Hall. I had to hide my DS and mini so I didn't loose it or it wouldn't get stolen. We all wandered around untill we foung the one, the only, the used to be Pokémon Canter NY, Nintendo World. We went in and they kept the old PCNY doors with Pokéball handles. We went in and there was a room, 30% of it was Pokémon figurenes, games, systems, cards and more, I looked around for a while and then went upstairs. Upstairs there are GameCubes® connected to 480i HD TVs, hmmmmm... Makes you think, doesn't it?
Then there was 2 shelf units devoted solely to Pokémon, there were PokéDolls, PokéPillows, and other PokéStuff. There was also a Pikachu pin and patch. I picked out a Treecko pillow, Bonsly, and Jolteon PokéDolls and some other things, there was a hat that said Nintendo in Japanese, I got that two other shirts and a mouse -pad. There were also old Nintendo systems and a Game Boy® that survived a bomb and still works. We also saw that there were Pikachu gift cards so we asked to see one with intent to just take it, but the Nintendo World Ambassador, that is a staff member or employee, said that we need to take inventory and you need a minimum of $5 on it, so we got it. We then took the glass elevator down and me and my mom argued the it sucks so much, beacuse it used to be a store solely devoted to Pokémon, now 32% is. That is just bull, Toraus I mean.
So we speent the gift card on two packs of cards and a Munchlax figure. We then asked for a Mystic ticket, but no, we had to bring the game, they said, they couldn't just give us the ticket and use our E-Readers to get it in? So I said loudly as we walked away, "I'll just have to hack my game then!" and walked away.
We then went down 5th ave. and went to some stores, it was very crowded, and we went in the newly managed, F-A-O , who used to be a leader in Pokémon, but now doesn't carry any. That was my trip to NY, I slept on the ride home and my Pokémon Pikachu 2 GS said I took 11092 steps, counting the 1000 I took in the morning, I'll have the final number tonight on PPL. I put up all my stuff in my room and I am now blogging, and will niw go down stairs to watch the tube. What a day. Questions? Leave a comment, leave a tag, or Jirachi.Rob@gamil.com will also take you questions and give you more travel advice.

Pokémon Express

Japanese train company JR East has teamed up with Nintendo to offer the Pokémon Suica card. Standing for Super Urban Intelligent CArd, Suica is a RFID e-money train pass.
The image “http://static.flickr.com/52/130846774_5078e88599.jpg?v=0” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

Commuters press Suica cards on the ticket wicket reader, and the train fare is charged to their accounts. To encourage children to use the cards in lieu of traditional magnetic train passes, a special Pokemon Suica card will be offered. The card can be used at places like the Pokémon Center in Yokohama to charge all sorts of goodies and also to wisk children off to the JR Pokémon Stamp Rally. The original Pokemon design Suica card will be unveiled this July, and, of course, kids will go bonkers.
